My 17 month old daughter is fascinated with this toy! She is really into taking the gears off, putting them back on, and making the gears turn. She has a very limited attention span but she loves the gears and will spend 10 minutes+ with this toy. (That's a lot for her!) I would rate quality and safety as very high.

I searched the magnetic gears that you can arrange one the fridge, and this came up in the results. I should have read it more, because although I knew it wasn't the exact gears I wanted, I was under the impression that it was similar to yet another toy that looks like this and goes on the fridge. although you can rearrange the gears, they are on certain pegs, so you're not really putting them ANYWHERE on the board that you want. it is pretty cool, but again, not the toy I expected. It is a good starter toy before you get the real refrigerator gears that are for two years and up i believe. overall, its a decent toy if you like gears.

My 15 mo old loves this toy. She loves to take the gears off and put them back on and play the music. It is kind of loud though, so a little annoying for the parents, and I don't usually get annoyed by her toys that make sounds. But I still love watching her play with it. I do turn it off sometimes for some relief for myself. But still worth it to watch her enjoy it.

I thought this would be quite a fun toy, however my kid's favourite thing to do with it is simply pile all the wheels into a bag and carry them around. Other children have had fun playing with it - the music is not that annoying. My daughter simply hasn't been as interested in this as I would've thought. It is sturdy, though, especially when the kids try to stop the wheel while it's automatically turning.
