My son saw this at the mall and fell in love with it. That, coupled with the fact that it was Christmas time, made me intent on buying it for him. He was 13 months at the time.

He LOVED it. Note the past tense of "love". He would hug him every time he saw it, and he would hug it on command. "Go hug your dinosaur!" It brought us hours of amusement.

A month later, the poor dinosaur is a little neglected. It's lost its initial appeal, but we're still happy with the purchase. Our son has gotten so many other toys so it's no big surprise that the T-Rex is collecting a little dust! But he'll still hug him and wrestle with him.

It was a worthwhile investment, because this will definitely be a stuffed animal that we'll keep around. It's beautiful, well made, and unique. But we laugh at the "poseable" aspect of it. There's wire in it, but its range of motion is limited. We can move the tail a little to the left (or right), but other than that, it is what it is. And we're more than happy with that.

My 6-year old nephew loves dinosaurs, so I sent him this for Christmas. By all reports, he loved it. I can't attest to the quality and feel of the toy, but I have confidence in anything Melissa & Doug sells.

My 16 year old son bought this for his girlfriend and he was very happy with his choice because it made her smile. His name is Tanner and her nickname for him is Tanosaurus Rex. It was the perfect size and pretty much met all expectations.

It's not often you find a straight five-star item! This is a huge plush! Tightly stuffed, beautifully dyed, and built around wire for pose-ability! I received this as an early solstice gift and immediately dubbed him Sir Steven Crichton.

the wires allowed me to put his legs in a more natural pose, and the wire in his tail means that you will always have a good counterbalance to his head. Inside his mouth they stitched in a tongue and white felt teeth, and his eyes are very old fashioned brown with molded in pupils. The fabric is soft in beautiful colors with well placed spots and stripes, he could pass for an art piece! Also the stitching is nice and tight so I think he'd survive the most brutal of playmates. ^_^ This is probably the best quality plush I own, with a possible tie with the Douglas brand plush dragons.

I should mention though that I gave it five-stars in education but that's kind of up to the parent. Packing him up with a good book would be nice, but if you put in the effort and play with him a bit he can be a very educational toy. Try even watching a discovery channel special then acting out scenes with plushes (yeah I'm probably too old for this but it's so much fun!). XD

To wrap up this is great. There are no negative aspects here unless he's too big to handle.

We bought one of these for one of our grandkids for his birthday. It was amazing and blew away all of his other presents. We bought one for another grandson. Again, it blew the kid away. Another of our grandsons, who is older than you would think would be interested in a plush toy, saw it and said that is what he wants for his birthday. This thing is amazing.
