The dolls are loved by my girls and are constantly played with. I love the neutral colored clothing with my only complaint being that the mother's dress keeps falling down/being pulled off.

Would rate it 4 1/2 stars if that was an option. We purchased this along with dollhouse and furniture for our 3 yr. old. She has been very happy with it!

The good: Plan Toys could not be greener! I am thrilled to spend my money with this company. Plant bases dyes, rubberwood that is no longer producing rubber, much thought about minimum packaging, etc. Figures seem durable. Are dressed pretty modernly in clothes our family might wear ourselves, overall I like the look of the figures. Our daughter is very much enjoying the imaginative play. Good pricing compared to what I found elsewhere. Somewhat poseable and the large feet make them able to stand.

The bad: The dad's hair has to be the worst thing - it looks like a bad toupee! Due to being tossed around in the box, the little girl's hair was sticking up in the bangs...should really have had a little sheath to hold it in place during shipping, but I think not using one is part of the green effort. The mom's skirt will not stay on to the point where I'm going to have to glue it to the body.

These get played with every single day with our plan toys doll house by my 18 month old son. He is pretty rough with them and I noticed the mom's hair is starting to come out a little. Also, the mom's skirt falls down constantly which is kind of annoying during play but could probably be glued or something...

...but my kid likes them. I think she wishes she could change the clothes, but I am glad she can't. The mom's hair got a little freaky after a while, but it is yarn, so I am not sure it wouldn't have with gentle play, either.

We purchased these for the Victorian Doll House, also from Plan Toys. As in the rest of this company's line, the materials are made from replenishable rubber tree wood and colored with non-toxic vegetable dye. That said, the family figures are a bit on the dull side, the father looks like he wears a bad toupee, the clothes are affixed to the bodies, and if they were taken off you'd be confronted with an armature of wood and resin-coated braided steel.

On the other hand, they are super durable, withstanding wild raging tantrums and the crunching heft of a mother-in-law's clawed foot. They also stand upright quite well.
