User Reviews about Wood Stacking Robots
Classic wood toy, but check out the clowns
With all the video games and branded characters nowadays, classic building toys seem like a throwback to a simpler (better?) time. These Wood Stacking Robots are fun to play with but also teach useful skills like balance and spatial understanding.
Comes with nine colorful robots. The box includes seven designs to build. I wish the manufacturer's Web site provided even more.
I have noticed paint chipping from the edges, although that does not seem to bother the kids. Still, with lead toxicity too often a problem in toys from China, this could be a concern. And unlike the Bill Ding Balancing Clowns*, these Stacking Robots from Schylling are *not* tested again for lead here in the USA.
I think I would spend a few dollars more for peace of mind.

Stacking Robots
I bought these stacking robots for my nephew's baby shower so he could play with them he gets older (his room has a robot theme so I thought these would be perfect). When my brother and sister-in-law opened them my brother immediately began to stack them and make robot towers. Myself and a few other guests also played with the stacking robots, trying to one-up the last robot tower. :o) They're more fun than you think they could be when you first look at them. Although I haven't seen them being played with by a child yet, the adults sure love them! Having two sets could make even more of a challenge!
Fun for years to come!
I bought two sets of this item for my nephew's 2nd birthday. So far his favorite thing to do is knock the stacked robots over, but he will definitely learn to do more with these robots. Am planning on getting some for my daughter as well!!
Old fashioned and charming
My grandson is enjoying this toy. But, since it's so low tech it may not be for everyone. The only problem I see with it is that the paint chips easily -- especially when a 4 year old is playing with them. Just hope there is nothing hazardous in the paint! But, overall, I think this is a good toy for kids who like to build things. Also a good counting tool. And, the robots look really cool for now -- until the paint all chips off.
It doesn't deserve 5 stars.
I bought this for my 3-year-old boy's Christmas present totally based on the reviews here. On the very first day he opened it, paint started to peel off at the edges. Another issue was that it was not possible to stack robots in the exactly same way illustrated on the box. One illustration is almost like showing its theoretical possibility. Except those two problems, I like this toy. Even my friends enjoyed stacking for a while.
